In a scathing assessment of Chennai Super Kings’ seventh defeat of the IPL 2025 season against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Friday, Virender Sehwag did not mince words as he tore into the roles of Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran in the top-order during a five-wicket loss.
Batting first at their Chepauk home ground with a rejigged line-up, CSK failed to put on another big score, bundling out for 154. CSK tried out Curran at three before Jadeja walked in at number four again. While Curran was dismissed for 9 off 10 balls, Jadeja failed to switch gears, falling for 21 off 17.
“Wasn’t I saying that I feel like going home midway through the tournament. CSK’s batters are also perhaps thinking that way. Their batters are wondering when will they get back home? When will the tournament end? At least one of them should have taken responsibility. Jadeja has got a useless strike rate, but at least try to stay out there till the 15th or 18th over. The rest of the batters can then play around him,” Sehwag said on Cricbuzz.
